Emotional abuse is a way to control another person by using emotions to criticize, embarrass, shame, blame, or otherwise manipulate another person.
In general, a relationship is emotionally abusive when there is a consistent pattern of abusive words and bullying behaviors that wear down a person's self-esteem and undermine their mental health. What's more, mental or emotional abuse, while most common in dating and married relationships, can occur in any relationship including among friends, family members, and co-workers. Emotional abuse is one of the hardest forms of abuse to recognize. It chips away at the victim's self-esteem and they begin to doubt their perceptions and reality. There is a lot of advice out there about how to have better sex. Some people look for their pointers in pornography, or what they call their “online sexual education.” But the truth is that most of the sex that we witness in movies, porn and in magazine articles is not actually great sex.
For some, starting a discussion about sex can be uncomfortable. The key to making sex interesting and exciting is to improve communication and better understand expectations for both yourself and your partner. During this event, we will examine three important elements, three keys - one organ, one action, one feeling - that will help you both start the discussion and to better understand what it takes to open the door to a great sex life.
