Awareness and Communication Skills for Every Relationship
Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I: But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by. -- CHRISTINA ROSSETTI (1830-1894)
Writing? Dancing? Singing? Drawing? Acting? Starving? What type of "artist"are you?
Regardless of the type of artist, it is for sure that you have spent countless years honing your craft. Constantly growing and improving. In the beginning you thought you were really good and you were constantly praised for your efforts from friends and family...and that is what provided the fuel for you to keep going....keep trying. Now, as you look back on when you were younger, you see how much you have grown and developed over the years.
Think about how hard you had to work in the beginning. When you look back now, you realize that you have improved so much over the years and it is so much easier now. You have learned so much and it is now just second nature! It's like you were born to do what you do.
What would have happened if you had decided to stop developing your craft? What if you hadn't bothered practicing or rehearsing or making mistakes that would help you to learn? Would you be where you are today? As you are aware, if you want to keep growing and developing, then you need to work on your craft! After all, it is something that you want to do for the rest of your life.
Is that so much different than your relationship? You want that to last for the rest of your life too don't you? So why is it that we feel that in every other area of our lives we must keep working on and developing our skills in order to advance, but when it comes to our relationships, there seems to be the opinion that once you are in one you can just sit back and let it happen?
Yes, it's true, working on your craft is fun, and it's easy. Has it always been fun and easy though? Were there ever some hard times that you had to work through? It was easier to keep working though because you had friends and family supporting you and cheering you on, you maybe took classes or had special teachers or coaches along the way. You worked through the issues and now it just seems so much easier...and more fun.
Has anyone every helped you to be a better partner? Have you ever taken a class to learn more about your relationship?
Being a Conscious Partner does take a little effort. Just like any talent though, once you learn the concepts and behaviors, it does become second nature. Best of all, relationship development can be fun! We can promise that there are no couches or yoga mats....just straight talk in a fun and relaxed environment. Let us show you how!
