Awareness and Communication Skills for Every Relationship
"We are not "just" teachers, we are the managers of the world's greatest resource: Children!" Robert John Meehan
An effective teacher has many valuable characteristics and they all add up to a good education for students, an enjoyable classroom experience, and a satisfying career. In addition each teacher has their own unique blend of these qualities that ultimately makes a teacher special. All teachers need to be adaptable, resourceful and determined, along with being a great communicator.
So how long have you been developing your teaching skills? Well, first, you started out being a student. Even though you may not have realized your were learning how to be a teacher, you were. Then you went to College or University and learned more. Then you got some on the job experience and then hopefully landed your first teaching position. Did the learning stop there? Of course it didn't. It was likely at that point that you realized that you still had so much to learn and that you would never stop learning, improving and developing your teaching skills.
How much learning and development do you put into your relationship? Isn't it just as important, if not more important?
For many, the difference is that they find work related development easy, whereas relationship development is not. Yes, relationships are a little harder in the beginning, but that's because we haven't been learning about them all of our lives. Nobody has been teaching us how to be "A Conscious Partner". We haven't been learning all of the little tricks that make things easier and helps us to communicate more effectively with our partner. To become a teacher it takes years of experience and formal training. How much relationship training and development have you been exposed to?
Being a Conscious Partner does take a little effort. Just like anything though, once you learn the concepts and behaviors, it does become second nature. Best of all, relationship development can be fun! We can promise that there are no couches or yoga mats....just straight talk in a fun and relaxed environment. Let us show you how!
