Oh hai! I'm Jaggie :) I will be the first to tell you that I have led a very blessed life, one that I will forever be grateful for. Secondly, and in my opinion more importantly, I have experienced my fair share of turbulent and disruptive situations that have permanently changed my being (as we all have). The reason it's more important is because I have experienced that pain, those traumas and I am here today writing to you as a changed human. Throughout my life I have experienced intense moments of anxiety and depression, the sense that I was lost, and more often then not, broken and alone. The relationships I put myself into reflected just that - a woman who didn't know herself or those around her. |
Since starting my own journey with ACP (back when the company was just an idea on paper), I have experienced an insane amount of growth. Although growth is never truly done, today I know more about myself then I ever have. I have healed from past trauma's, forgiven myself for my own inaction as well as the self destructive actions I once chose to take when I wasn't existing as my best self.
Life & relationships are tricky and filled with obstacles; by choosing to pursue my own self growth, as well as surrounding myself with others pursuing self growth, I have learned that these obstacles are really just lessons to be learned. A Conscious Partner has added and continues to add tools to my "toolbox", as well as skill after skill to conquer each and every one of these obstacles.
Life isn't easy, but that most definitely doesn't mean that I have to suffer, that any of us has to suffer. I choose to be on this journey of self growth everyday, and every day I find more happiness, more strength and more inspiration to achieve everything I set my heart to.

Growing up I had many opportunities to pursue my athletic passions, fastball being the main one. Traveling all over North America to play elite fastball from ages 12-21 was an experience of a lifetime. Receiving a post secondary scholarship to my school of choice in Florida was even more so, but also a very humbling experience. For me it was a was a true testament to the work required to achieve goals, and to make dreams become reality. It continues to serve as a reminder to me that anything and everything is possible with a little commitment, determination and responsibility. |
After graduating from college in 2014, I experienced my lowest of lows. I had the degree, I had the contacts, I had the nice, pretty office job downtown that paid the big bucks. The life that every "nuclear" family would want for their kid. It was the life I had thought I had wanted; the life I had imagined daily for years. The reality: this life was soul crushing. It was a wake up call like none I have ever experienced. I was living for an image, a way of life, that was not my own. I didn't know who I was. I didn't know what I wanted. It was overwhelming and for a period of time I thought I would drown from the weight it was imposing on me; the weight (shame/guilt) I was allowing to be imposed on me. It wasn't until I understood that I was unhappy (more like finally stopped with the facade and accepted that I was not where I should be) that I was able to start making changes within. |
I jumped on several opportunities after this wake up call - one of them being modelling. Being a tomboy growing up I never thought in a million years thought that modelling would be something I could do or even would do. As if the universe shone a light on the inner me during my first photo-shoot, modelling became and continues to be one of my greatest passions. It has encouraged me on my path of self discovery. Learning to love my body (and every little "flaw" that makes me real and human) not only empowered me and encouraged self confidence, it also helped me to look inward and acknowledge myself as a being; a being with insecurities. Creative expansion taught me how to reach areas of myself that I never thought I had; teaching me to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. Modelling has been a soul empowering passion that led me to my path as a host with A Conscious Partner. |
Whenever I was asked what my dream in life is, I always had the same reply: "I want to change the world".
Although it really is my true dream, for a long while it felt silly, most definitely a tad naive to say; and I didn't feel confident or proud when I said it.
Through my life's experiences, through my modelling and now through A Conscious Partner, I see my reply as a stubborn rally cry, coming from the inside out, to encourage myself that dreams do come true if one continues to work towards it.
I have learned that the world is a large place, and that although not everyone will hear me, I can most definitely affect myself, and those around me.
Changing the world now effectively means changing MY world, in turn changing the world of those who come in contact with me. I have a light that has always lived within me, and for a long time I denied it's presence.

Now, thanks to self-discovery and self-growth with ACP I am embracing my light & dream like never before. In order to bring change, I had to recognize and adjust my toxic behaviours, release myself from dysfunctional patterns developed through the obstacles of life and practice being authentic as well as responsible for my authentic self. Unlearn the BS and relearn consciousness. I am here to light up the dark. I was as lost as the worst of us, I never thought I would find my way forward. But I am here, telling you I have. Telling you I continue to find my way forward. Now I encourage you to do the same. Sincerely Jaggie! (Kaitlyn Dougherty) |
